How long are the courses?
You can participate on the 10-K (6.2 mile) or the 2-mile course.
Do I have to run?
No, you can run or walk either course.
Where does it start?
The start line is at the corner or 19th and Chicago near the Civic Auditorium
When does it start?
- Check-in starts at 6:30 a.m.
- The Corporate Cup "Elite" Race starts at 7:45 a.m.
- The "Main Event" will start at 9:00 a.m. This includes all 2-mile and 10-K participants who are NOT in the Elite Race competition.
- The 100 yard dash Kids Race will being at 10:30 a.m. This event will still start on Chicago Street and finish on the 10-K finish line.
Are pets allowed on the course?
No. In addition to animals being an asthma trigger for some participants, the danger of tripping over a leash is too great.
Are MP3 players allowed on the course?
Yes, but please be aware of your surroundings and courteous to the other participants.
Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes, but once again those with strollers should be courteous to the other participants especially those who are running the event. If you can’t start behind the majority of those running the event please leave lanes for those participants to pass you safely.
What is the Kid’s Race?
The kid’s race is a 100-yard dash for kids ages 5 to 10 years old. The race will begin at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Chicago St. between 19th and 17th St.
When is the Awards Celebration?
The Awards Celebration will be held in October. Corporate awards will be handed out at the Awards Celebration
What’s New?
Elite Race
- The Corporate Cup Elite Race will be for the "Best of the Best" runners in the area.
- The start time for the Elite Race will be 7:45 a.m. at the corner of 19th and Chicago.
- Qualifying times for the event are as follows:
- Males = 40 minutes or under in 10-K
- Females = 47 minutes or under in 10-K
- If you have a time from a different distance please contact the ALA Staff to see if you qualify for this event
Additional prize money will be available for the top finishing male and female in the Elite Race.
- The "seeded" pass qualifiers will line up behind the "select seeded" pass qualifiers. The qualifications for a "seeded" pass are as follows:
- Males = 50 to 60 minutes in 10-K
- Females = 55 to 65 minutes in 10-K
- If you have a time from a different distance please contact the ALA Staff to see if you qualify for this event
- Open and Elite Race awards will be handed out after the Main Event.
- If you think you qualify for an award and you are competing in the Open Division of the Elite Race, please come back inside the Civic Auditorium for the Awards Ceremony after the event.
- All team/corporate awards will be handed out at the Awards Celebration in October.
